SEEK Development has set up a new web-based platform called the DONOR Tracker. The platform went live on April 25 and provides objective, comparative policy and budget information on the eight largest European donors, UK, Germany, France, the European Union institutions, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. The policy tracker reports on these donors’ global development policy discussions, decisions, and legislation, giving an almost “real time” picture of events via a budget and decision tracker. Key elements of the platform:
- Donor profiles — introducing each country’s political system, legislative process, actors and institutions, as well as summarizing their global development strategies and funding commitments. The profiles have a special focus on global health and agriculture.
- Policy tracker — providing information on the latest political developments and budget decisions, relevant meetings and events, new publications and media coverage.
- Cross-country analysis on strategic issues facing donor countries.
Start-up funding for the DONOR Tracker is provided by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
