Dr Andrea Thiel is an Associate Director at SEEK Development with more than a decade of experience in top-tier consulting, Global Public Health and public health research. At SEEK, she focuses on our work in Development Finance and Advocacy and Global Public Health.

From her work with McKinsey & Company, Andrea has extensive expertise in the areas of organizational strategy and organizational development, in particular transformational change. As a consultant and project leader, she served pharmaceutical companies and Global Public Health organizations on issues including their COVID-19 response, market entry and pricing strategy, as well as defining the organizational setup and culture to support the organization’s strategic targets. From 2020-2021, she served on a one-year secondment to the Africa Union’s Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) in Addis Ababa as Senior Strategy Advisor to the Director, working on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout for Africa and supporting the setup of key strategic initiatives and partnerships, including the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust and the “Saving lives and livelihoods” initiative in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

Andrea holds a doctorate from the Hamburg Center for Health Economics, a Master in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and Bachelors in International Affairs as well as in Business Administration from the University of St.Gallen. She is fluent in German and English and proficient in French.
