Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is a global health organization dedicated to discovering, developing and developing antimalarials tailored to the populations they serve.
With the global health landscape, including malaria, experiencing significant shifts MMV sought SEEK’s support to shape its next seven-year strategy and strongly position the organization for the future.
Using SEEK’s co-creative approach to strategy development, we worked directly with the CEO and a client team from across the organization throughout the entire strategy process.
We started with a landscaping diagnostic involving broad consultations and targeted analysis to identify trends and strategic scenarios for MMV. These were discussed and refined in an a—staff workshop and a retreat with MMV’s Board ensuring broad buy in.
Building upon the findings of the initial environmental assessment we then developed and iterated on the MMV's long-term strategic framework. Team-wide engagement, including select Board members, was again integral to this phase of strategy development process, as were consultations with the wider ecosystems of stakeholders.
Ultimately, this process resulted in a robust new strategy taking into account latest trends trends and positioning MMV as a key player in innovation and access to malaria medicines.
Strategy set a bold new direction, incorporating intersectoral themes like climate, equity, and adjacent areas, thus expanding MMV's scope and relevance in a changing landscape.
Unanimous approval of MMV's strategic framework by the board marked the initiation of the business planning phase, signaling a unified commitment to the MMV’s future direction.
Highly engaged teams poised to effectively implement the strategy.
