Dr. Jacob Sarfo is an Associate Consultant at SEEK Development with experience in agriculture and food systems transformation, climate protection and adaptation, stakeholder engagement, research and data analytics, as well as a passion for development policy.
Jacob worked as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen, gaining expertise in research and data analytics on the socio-economics of agriculture and food. He also led the implementation of a transdisciplinary baseline research project and stakeholder engagement across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Dr. Sarfo also worked with a CGIAR research center, Bioversity International, in Kenya to help address food insecurity and nutrition issues among women and children. He worked with the GIZ in Germany and Ghana, where he supported in providing strategic advice to Germany’s BMZ and CGIAR on agriculture research and policy.
Dr. Sarfo additionally worked for Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture, supporting a World Bank project to boost agriculture technology and food production.
Dr. Sarfo earned his Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Goettingen, Germany. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Furthermore, he has completed a postgraduate certificate program in International Climate Protection and Adaptation Coordination.
